Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC)

A SMART SERVICE FOR FOREIGN CUSTOMERS

With Dynamic Currency Conversion, your customers can choose in the terminal whether they want to pay in local currency or their own. Worldline takes over the currency exchange from the customer's bank and provides a competitive exchange rate.

How it works

WHAT IS DCC?

1. International card transaction is started

Your customer puts their card in to the terminal to make a payment.

2. Currency check

Worldline does a check up to see which currency the card is connected to.

3. Payment amount is shown

Your customer will see the currency in both local currency and their own.

4. Pick currency

Your customer chooses to pay in their own currency in the terminal.

5. Conversion

Worldline will send the transaction in the customers currency to their bank.

6. Done

The terminal will verify that the transaction has gone through.

How is the exchange rate updated?

Worldline provides an updated, competitive exchange rate. The exchange rates are being updated 6 times a day, to ensure an updated exchange rate.

What is shown on the receipt?

On the customer receipt, they will see the purchase amount in local currency, their own currency, exchange rate, exchange fee, terms and their chosen option.

What is Currency Conversion (DCC)?

Currency Conversion is a service that is included in your terminal from Worldline.


How does it work?

Worldline takes over the currency exchange from the customer's bank and provides a competitive exchange rate.


What currency is shown in the terminal?

For customers with cards connected to a currency that Worldline Currency Conversion supports, the terminal will show the amount in both the local and the customers currency. The customers currency will include the exchange fee.


What are the customer benefits when they pay in their currency?

The customer gets a guaranteed and competitive exchange rate and it is easier understood exactly what the payment amount will be.

The receipts are also more easily administrated to report expenses from business trips.


What should I recommend?

Recommend the customer to pick the currency themselves.


Are there any fees for the customer when using DCC?

The customer will pay a fee, that is included in the payment amount shown in the terminal.
